Product Description:
Mystery Moor isn't called by that name for nothing - as the Five are about to discover! There's something dangerous out there, and the gang mean to find out what it is, but they need some help. The travellers camped on the moor are no use - in fact, they're downright unfriendly. So the Famous Five have no other choice: they'll have to risk the treacherous mists and follow the trail...But do they know what they've let themselves in for?

Rated by buyers 3 out of 5 stars - A weak, late entry in a wonderful serries
Growing up these books were a solid part of my childhood the way the Hardy Boys or Nancy Drew were for other kids. set in the 1950's these are the tales of adventures or 4 children and their dog in a world before cell phones, video games and elder wands, they explore old ruins and mysterious happenings, all on their school breaks.
In this particular adventure they are staying at a riding school, in the US we'd say a dude ranch, where they find mysterious goings on in the moors where a thick fog becomes dangerous, gypsies chase off strangers and ap lane drops strange bundles in the night.
I love this series but for some reason this entry seemed a little weak. Maybe because the horse camp seemed odd in an England as shown in the series dominated by old houses, farms and mysterious ruins along the coast. It just seemed out of place and as there had been no interest shown by the kids in horses so far in the series, them being accomplished riders is a little jarring.
