The Clue of the Dancing Puppet
The Clue of the Dancing Puppet by Carolyn Keene is 177 pages long and was published by Grosset & Dunlap in 1962. This is a mystery novel filled with much suspense. The main characters are Nancy, Bess, George, Emmet Calhoun, Mr. Spencer, Tammi Whitlock, and more. This book is about a girl in her late teens that solves mysteries because that's what she likes to do.
Most of the book takes place in a mansion where there is a theater outback where the Footlighters perform their plays. There has been much suspicion around the Mansion because there is a puppet that jerkishly dances across the front lawn at night, but no one can ever catch it. Nancy lives in the town of River Heights originally, but has to travel whenever she is in need to solve a mystery. George is Nancy's best friend; Bess is George's cousin, and also a friend of Nancy's. Nancy is the protagonist of the story. You'll have to read the story to find out who the antagonist is. The antagonist is the person who is guilty of being the culprit behind the mystery. Carolyn Keene made this novel how it is to see if you can figure out who it is that's behind the scheme of The Clue of the Dancing Puppet. A strength of this book is that it's such a good book that you'll always want to keep reading, and that certain parts of the book make it fun to read.
I think the book was good because it is suspenseful and you never know what might happen next. Don't doze off while reading the book; otherwise you might miss out on important stuff that could help you solve the mystery yourself!
I highly recommend this book. This is because you can never get bored from reading Nancy Drew mystery novels, unlike other books where you can fall asleep easily.
