Editor's Notes and Comments:

Product Description:
When Sara and Jamie discovered the seemingly ordinary artifacts, they sensed the pull of a dim and distant place. A world of mists and forests, of ancient magics, mythical beings, ageless bards...and restless evil.

Now, with their friends and enemies alike--Blue, the biker; Keiran, the folk musician; the Inspector from the RCMP; and the mysterious Tom Hengyr--Sara and Jamie are drawn into this enchanted land through the portals of Tamson House, that sprawling downtown edifice that straddles two worlds.

Sweeping from ancient Wales to the streets of Ottawa today, Moonheart will entrance you with its tale of this world and the other one at the very edge of sight...and the unforgettable people caught up in the affairs of both. A tale of music, and motorcycles, and fey folk beyond the shadows of the moon. A tale of true magic; the tale of Moonheart.

Rated by buyers 5 out of 5 stars - Moonheart
I thought this book was excellent! It started off kind of slow. But after a while, especially the second half, I couldn't put it down until I finished it. There are a lot of characters to keep track of and some of the expressions that they make are sort of silly but I thought the overall story was interesting and entertaining. This was my very first DeLint book, and the very first fiction book that I had read in years, and I am glad that I started here. I am looking forward to reading more DeLint books.

Rated by buyers 5 out of 5 stars - My favorite author
I picked up this book about a year ago and was completely enthralled. Mr. de Lint's writing has magic to it. Reading his stories makes me feel like I've come home in a way. That might sound trite, but it's true. I get a sense of calm when I read his books, even when the events happening in them aren't exactly calming. I get the feeling that he is rooting for his characters and hopes that everything turns out all right.

I don't want to give away any of the plot, but if you like urban fantasy and high fantasy and exciting stories, you'll like this. If you like characters who seem to be people you've known all your life, you'll like this. If you've heard of Charles de Lint and want to start reading his work, this is one of the best places to start. It's standalone, though the house is mentioned in at least one other book (hopefully more, but I haven't read them all yet!) This is just a great book.

Rated by buyers 5 out of 5 stars - FAN
This author surpasses any other horror or fantasy book. I will be reading all his books. You can hear the harps and feel the beat of the drums. Great way to blend Native American and celtic folklore. Charles has a new fan. Steven King...move over.

Rated by buyers 3 out of 5 stars - Not Free SF Reader
Mountie magic fighters, motorbikes, and massive houses.

Have a secret ghostbusting organisation would definitely not seem to be de Lint's forte - at least in this earlier book. His Hellboy crossover later on is ok, though.

This is a hodgepodge of various mystic and fantasy elements and mythos, as a motely crew of people come together to end up in an Otherworld setting via the huge and strange Tamson House.

Doesn't really hang together all that well.

Rated by buyers 2 out of 5 stars - Trying too hard to be a phenomenal fantasy book
Not very well written, anti-climatic, drags

The idea was great but not well executed
