Editor's Notes and Comments:

Product Description:
This illustrates children's picture book told in perfect rhyme teaches children and adults that acquiring things won't bring us lasting peace and happiness. Rather, the only way to be truly fulfilled is to feed our souls by feasting upon 'the Word.' He sprinkled Virginia all over the coast, Then swallowed New York like a cinnamon toast. He had Boston with beans and Houston with ham Salt Lake City with Jell-O and L.A. with Spam. He munched on the Redwoods like chips and some dip, Then washed it all down with the ol' Mississip... In a raft with his mom and nothing to do, He still felt so hungry, and GUILTY now, too! Water and water was all he could see. He still wasn't full. What else could there be? 'Son, maybe your body's not hungry a bit,' She said, wiping part of Detroit from his lip. 'We're all hungry, Son,' she started to say. 'Your body and soul need food every day.'

Rated by buyers 3 out of 5 stars - A religious book!
SPOILER WARNING:
This book starts off just fine, as the funny story of a boy who is eating everything in America. And then at the end (I'm not making this up), the boy's mother tells him that the hunger he feels is a void in his soul that can only be filled by Jesus Christ. Huh?! Out of nowhere, POW! this charmingly-illustrated book becomes a religious tract. First 95% of book: great. Last couple pages: a jarring shift that doesn't fit.

Rated by buyers 5 out of 5 stars - Best Of The Best!
This book is brilliant! It is a must have for every family. It is fun and simple, charming and delightful! I often read this book to my children and it never gets old. I cannot wait for another book from this clever author!

Rated by buyers 5 out of 5 stars - Fantastic book: Entertaining for kids, inspiring for adults
This imaginative story was very entertaining and fun to read. I really enjoyed it as a 40-year-old adult but it was my niece and nephews who adored it.

It's powerful and timely message near the end was perfectly parsed-without a trace of piety. I never saw it coming-and neither will you. That's the best part.

Very rarely will any book or movie have me laughing out loud and then tearing up the subsequent moment. Bravo Mr. Jones!

Rated by buyers 5 out of 5 stars - Clever writing, wonderful illustrations, powerful message. Excellent!
Thanks to the author for putting together a very clever story with an uplifting message. The writing is like a mixture between Dr. Seuss and Shel Silverstein, both of whom my kids adore. And the lesson at the end of the book was a very pleasant surprise.

The whimsical illustrations work perfectly.

I look forward to more from this author and illustrator.
