I read this book a few years ago and embraced its teachings as an immature Christian. Recently, I began to see the very subtle and insidious deception in the teachings of his book and re-read it, with the scales off my eyes.
The essence of the book is that we have only limited spiritual powers and we mustn't mess around with Satan because he used to be a high ranking angel and unless we have the right authority, we're going to end up sick, have miscarriages and so on, which is how the book opens.
I didn't WANT to believe that I had been reading the writings of a false prophet, but when I re-read this book, it gave me shivers down my spine, because the deception is so subtle. He quotes Scripture (out of context) to support his "theory" which is no more than putting fear into intercessors' minds, which is obviously the objective of Satan himself.
To quote an example, he states, on p.82, without any Scriptural support: "One definition of sin is "when we endeavor to take by force what God would have given by grace" Then he proceeds to quote Exodus 23:29-30 "I will not drive them out from before you in one year, lest the land become desolate and the beasts of the field become too numerous for you. Little by little, I will drive them out from before you, until you have increased and inherited the land." and claims that this passage means that if we "try to cleanse the land totally, before it is wise to do so, other spirits, who are far more wicked, may replace what we might drive out". He's telling intercessors to not pray for total cleansing, only little by little!!!
I leave it up to you, wise and discerning readers, what "spirit" is behind this man's writing. What does this book do? Just read the other "good" reviews: "wise warnings for intercesors" and so on. Jesus died on the cross and has already overcome Satan. This is a very clever and very subtle ploy to get you to be "wise", which means scared. But the Bible teaches us that we have authority and have boldness in fighting spiritual dark forces.
Please join me in prayer against deceptive writings. There are other popular Christian writers too that I now question but I'll review those books in due time.
If you were to make a counterfeit $100 bill, you would not make it bright orange. You would make it look so much like the real thing. Take heed.

This has got to be one of the most eye opening books I have ever read, it answered a lot of questions I had been asking the Lord regarding Spiritual warfare. John Paul Jackson is a seasoned man who hears from God, he backs up his writing with scripture and it all bears witness with your spirit. This book should be required reading for every spirit filled Christian and if it were there would be a lot less causalties in christendom.

Book has some wise warnings for intercessors, but not a lot of positive suggestions.

This book really brought me a lot of confidence with regard to spiritual warefare, as it clearly explains boundaries that the Lord gives us. John Paul Jackson did a great job of highlighting the "do's and dont's" in a positive, uplifting way that tells it straight, and I found myself filled with more faith to ask God to move and for his will to be done.
