Editor's Notes and Comments:

Product Description:
The Witchblade and the Darkness have always been linked as related powers. But when Sonatine, a man obsessed with having the Darkness for himself, decides to steal it from Jackie Estacado, its current bearer, and place it into assassin extraordinaire, Ian Nottingham, the plan goes horribly awry. Detective Sara Pezzini, the host for the Witchblade, arrives on the scene and her power too, is taken. But the two cannot coexist and the reaction could bring about Armageddon. Now Jackie and Sara, natural enemies, must find a way to work together to stop what could become the end of the world.

User popularity level: out of 5 stars

Rated by buyers 2 out of 5 stars - One of the worst story arcs of any comic series ever
The Family Ties story arc, which was basically a crossover between the Witchblade and the Darkness, is the most poorly written, confusing, non-reader friendly story arc I've ever read. When I very first read this, I thought I must be stupid because I didn't understand a thing I was reading. I reread it, and still had no idea what was going on. I finally realized: I'm not dumb, this story arc is just very poorly written. It tries to tell a story by NOT telling the story. Back then, Top Cow's philosophy for writing stories was to leave the reader out of the loop as often as possible. Show the reader brief snapshots of unfamiliar situations, throw in some cryptic, meaningless dialogue and text, and let the reader try to figure it out for him/herself. I was an English major and I pride myself at being able to figure out twisted plots and mysteries, but I simply can't make sense out of this book no matter what I do. Maybe if you hired a philosopher, a linguist, and a psychic, you could figure this book out. To make matters worse, Top Cow basically repeated this story arc in the Witchblade Blood Relations storyline. It doesn't make any sense in that context either. Family Ties is one of those things where you only buy it if you absolutely have to have all the issues of a particular series.

Rated by buyers 1 out of 5 stars - terrible stuff
It's one of the worst things I've ever read or seen. I used to be a fan of Top Cow trade paperbacks but this thing is unforgiveably bad. Try some other comics like Sin City, you'd be better off.

Rated by buyers 5 out of 5 stars - the best
i have ta give this one the five star rating, simply cause the witchblade and darkness comics are the greatest comics to ever exist, well, ok, maybe not the greatest, but they're sure as hell my favorite. GO CHECK EM OUT! IF YA DONT LUV IT, uh......um......well.....thats ur opinion.
