I really enjoyed Owen Lee's book with its insights regarding the sustainable philosophies of Cousteau, his travails in starting the Nature Study Center at Las Gatas, living in Mexico for 40 plus years and this juxta-posed with being part of the beat scene in the village, hangin out with the greats (Stan Getz, Paul Desmond). Mr. Lee lives large and we are fortunate he shares his story with us. His new book Mother Nature, My Nature is tremendous read for those concerned with sustainability and the human prospect. Thanks Owen!

Harriet is correct, the book could have been edited better. The story simple but it's the true story, which was important to me, I love Zihua and I purchased a copy from Owen's hands, so that also makes it special. My ex date has the copy (her name was written on the inside) so I re-purchased it through Amazon. It's a part of Zuhua's history and mine. It's the story of a love of a place and for that I give it 4 stars. I will check out 'Wash Gently' thanks Harriet see you in Z

I love Zihuatanejo and as such, Owen Lee's book holds a fascination for me. However, I am not so sure the lay reader will find it as interesting. The prose is quite simple and the story telling not very compelling. That being said, it is still a must (along with 'Wash Gently,Dry Slowly' by Ted Tate) for anyone who loves Zihuatanejo and wants to gorge themselves on history bites.
