Editor's Notes and Comments:
Product Description:
Mr. Darcy's Diary presents the story of the unlikely courtship of Elizabeth Bennet and Fitzwilliam Darcy from Darcy's point of view--sharing his innermost thoughts and feelings. This graceful imagining and sequel to Price and Prejudice explains Darcy s moodiness and the difficulties of his reluctant relationship as he struggles to avoid falling in love with Miss Bennett. Though seemingly stiff and stubborn at times, Darcy s words prove him also to be quite devoted and endearing qualities that eventually win over Miss Bennett s heart. This continuation of a classic romantic novel is charming and elegant, much like Darcy himself.

Because of a recommendation I began to read this book, and I must say it's very disappointing. It's no more than a rearranging of Austen's plot points without the felicity of her lovely writing. It's not truly from Darcy's point of view; there's very little internal depth of the sort you'd imagine from such a man. As an intense introvert, there's much more to him inside than there is outside, and absolutely none of it comes through in this book. All you get is an exact reflection of the outside Elizabeth saw. The language is not overtly modern, but neither is it anything like Austen's language, except where her phrases are directly used. Badly done, Amanda Grange, badly done.

I loved this book. It was slow to start but after it did you couldn't help but love the stubborn fool. You get to go along on his journey in finding himself thought the love of someone who would never of thought he would ever be with. I really enjoyed the male perspective of Darcy's character in this book.

This book was just WONDERFUL! I could hardly put it down. I have read many of the post "Pride & Predjudice" and other Jane Austen-type novels that have followed my favorite author, and this book was the very BEST!!!
"Mr. Darcy's Diary" kept to the proper tone of the times, as well as the style of the language of Jane Austen's novels. It was almost like reading Pride and Prejudice again from another perspective.
I have also read "Mr. Knightly's Diary" and just purchased "Captain Wentworth's Diary" that I can't wait to start.
You won't be disappointed in this series. BRAVO, Amanda Grange, quite an accomplishment.
