The beginning was slow as it went into great detail of the stories mentioned in the end of MDTAW. While I enjoyed more information about each of these subjects/events, it made it less interesting and harder to get "into". I thoroughly enjoy Linda's imagination as to what life would have been like for Darcy & Lizzy and the ups & downs they'd experience.
There is a lot of sex in the book and I personally found it very believable to think that 2 people as passionate as Darcy & Elizabeth would enjoy eachother to that extent and frequency.
Though if you are easily offended at such suggestions, then this book isn't for you.

Somewhat entertaining, but huge emphasis on sex, and Mr. Darcy being embarrassed after they are married(??) with intimate matters. Could not bring myself to continue reading it.

If you are looking for a soft-core porn version of something that mildly resembles P&P, this is the book for you. I'm not adverse to sex and lust and all that good stuff in a book, bring it on, but use it judiciously and to aid the plot. Not so here, sex and more sex ,or discussions about sex are used liberally as filler in this too long novel. The book has a hastily pulled together feel, as if the author was in a rush to capitalize on the sucess of her very first book, thus rushing out the sequel only half baked. There is a great deal of real estate dedicated to rehashing the original P&P back-story as well as territory covered in the very first sequel.
The plot never gets off the ground. Every man on the scene falls deeply in love with Elizabeth. Darcy and Elizabeth simply cannot control their mind-boggling lust for each other and proceed to rut all over almost every page in excruciating detail. The story seriously bogs down in the middle, drags on, and then quickly wraps up. I would like to suggest that the author take a break from the P&P characters. Except for Georgiana, she seems to have exhausted her enthusiasm and ideas for them; they seem exaggerated and forced. There is definitely a great book or series lurking inside of Linda Berdoll's head. At times some of her pacing and humour vaguely reminded me of Diana Gabaldon's excellent "Outlander" series, but it seems misplaced within the confines of P&P. Glimpses of great stuff here and there, but overall a misfire.

I was always very leery of any "sequel" to P&P as I was concerned the characters, tone and story-lines would not do justice to the original. However, I found Linda's books very consistent with those characters. I loved Mr. Darcy Takes a Wife. I enjoyed this book as well and was left wanting more. My main concern was that towards the end, things were wrapped up rather quickly. Wickham's justice was well-developed, but it seemed loose ends were left for the Bingley's state, Caroline Bingley and more children for the Darcy's. So, does that mean a third book is in the works? I enjoyed this thoroughly and recommended it to my Jane Austen friends. I just don't get any chores done around the house because I can't put it down.

Horrible, hated it, couldn't finish it, it was so bad, sold it to used book store hoping no one else would ever read it
