Editor's Notes and Comments:
Product Description:
The third volume collecting Neil Gaiman's seminal, award-winning series starring the Dream King in deluxe format.
ABSOLUTE SANDMAN VOL. 3 presents several key SANDMAN tales in a slipcased hardcover edition, including 'Brief Lives,' in which the Sandman's sister Delirium prevails upon her older brother to help her find their missing sibling, Destruction. But their journey through the Waking World has dramatic repercussions for their family and also for the relationship between the Sandman and his wayward son, Orpheus.
Also included is the spectacular short story 'Ramadan,' a tale of a young king of ancient Baghdad and the deal he strikes with The Sandman to grant his city immortality, with spectacular illustrations by P. Craig Russell (Fairy Tales of Oscar Wilde, The Jungle Book).

Here I am only writing about how the Absolute Sandman Volume three (ISBN number 978-1-4012-1084-7, © 2008) doesn't thrill me by it's printing & bookbinding standards (both done in China). It's the only volume I possess so far.
(1) First and worst: the ribbon page marker has very visibly stained the pages 206/207 and 256/257. (2) The printing doesn't seem to be too great either, eg. on page 246 in the white area on the bottom of the page you can clearly see how the printing of the back page shows through (also, the bottom half of the page is crinkled). (3) Many pages stuck together on the bottom edge because (I guess) the cutting blade had a bad spot. (4) On the right paper edge there is some glue residue. (5) Quite often the surface of the paper isn't clean. (6) And last, but not least, the endpaper is flawed/has a prominent white spot on it's righthand side.
And I haven't even really begun to read it yet...

These, if this is your Genre, are completely amazing. The price that I got these for was phenomenal. I paid nearly half of what any comic book store charges, received them in wonderful condition. I have nothing but good things about this product and the company I received them through.

Chibi Endless!!
I love how the very first two appeared, and the bit in the gallery is perfect!
And yes, the rest is up to standard- ie Gaiman's amazing standard!
Beautiful art, but the story lines! just wow. The characters have a reality to them. Delirium, in particular, reminds me of someone I know. The stories unfold so naturally.
I look forward to vol 4.

Neil Gaiman's Sandman is a comic book + Literary genius + Great artwork + Stories from all over the world + much more. The absolute edition has new stories that were never before published. It's a visual and mental treat. If you are ever wondering whether to buy the TPB's or the absolute edition, I would suggest the Absolute edition - as all the original 75 stories from Sandman are collected in dust cover 4 volumes vs 12 TPB's. So price-wise it doesn't make a big difference. I have read this 3 times in the last 10 years and every time there is something new that I find. Like for example the library in the dream king's castle has books that famous authors thought but never wrote like in the sidelines if you you look for it. This book vol.3 introduces the "Inn at the world's end" a place where the currency is stories. The current series by Vertigo called "The house of Mystery" expounds on this concept. All in all a must buy.

i know the review is for the book but i am just disappointed with the poor packaging by amazon on this book. i haven't read the book yet but i don't care because i am a Neil Gaiman fan, so i know i would like this book. however the packaging was done poorly.
i've been an amazon customer for about 3 years now but this is the very first time that i will complain about their packaging.
my order was sent from one of their fulfillment centers:
Amazon.com, LLC
1050 South Columbia
Campbellsville, KY
the book is heavy but they did not provide any cushion, and i received the package slightly opened because the package was not properly sealed.
*** update ***
amazon ended up giving me a %15 discount for this issue.
