Rated by buyers 5 out of 5 stars - Review by a fifth-grader
This is a really good Nancy Drew book. It is my favorite one yet. I want to get it for myself. It is not scary or suspenceful in a bad way.

Rated by buyers 5 out of 5 stars - why do they call bess plump??
when i looked at the cover of this i noticed bess.pretty an SLIM she isnt overweight at all!!!!anyway i really loved this book.in this book nancy is asked to find ms.putneys stolen jewlary.nancy also think blackwood hall has something to do with the strange se`ance's occuring telling people to give up their money or their inheiritance.blackwood hall is connected to the mystery and i thought every time nancy went to blackwood hall was scary.you will soon find out that nancy is very brave and clever.the trap that the enemies set for nancy nearly loses her live, but the way nancy solves the mystery of the stolen jewlary and who she stops the emenies into cheating people with a three branch ranch synbol is very exiting!!!!

Rated by buyers 4 out of 5 stars - Good but not Great
The Goast of Blackwood Hall is not on my must read list. It is pretty creepy. And not something that you should read before bed.

Rated by buyers 4 out of 5 stars - An Exciting Fast-paced Mystery
This review concerns the original 1948 edition as well as the revised 1967 edition which is a shorter version of the original. A widow seeks Nancy's help after she is robbed of a fortune in jewels. It seems the woman's deceased husband's spirit instructed her to bury the jewels in the forest to prevent them from being stolen from her home. Nancy is certain that the woman is the victim of a clever group of swindlers. Her investigation puts her into contact with several young women who are being cheated out of their hard-earned paychecks and leads her to abandoned Blackwood Hall. There, Nancy encounters an eerie, glowing ghost that inhabits the mansion. This is definately one of the best Nancy Drew books. The mystery is interesting and the story is fast-paced and well-written with lots of action. I really enjoyed the middle chapters, particularly the very first two times Nancy investigates Blackwood Hall and meets the ghost. The whole book is great and a must-read for fans of the series.
