I just finished reading this book to my 7 and 9 year old kids. They have never enjoyed a book as much as of yet though some scenes were still a little exciting for my 7 year old. We are definitely reading another Enid Blyton book. I highly recommend this series for 8-12 year olds.

I devoured these Famous Five books when I was a kid, and while I can't say I remember much about them -- or even whether I read this particular one -- I do remember that I loved them. I guess they're eclipsed by Harry Potter these days, but if you have or are a kid in the right age group who loves kids' adventure stories, you may want to give these a try.
