Editor's Notes and Comments:

Product Description:
Questions to Ask a Breeder: 1. What kind of job is this, growing dogs? 2. Are these dogs nice? I mean of course they are. But if not, is this refundable? 3. Is this a stable business? Do you make a decent living? 4. Does the insurance kill you or is it okay? 5. Dogs are animals ? does this mean you qualify for some kind of Federal ranch subsidies? 6. What do I say to people who want to know how I can spend $1500 and up on a dog when there are so many dogs to be rescued from the pound?

The (make-believe) Rabbis of the (fictional) Boca Raton Theological Seminary have developed the essential dog training program for raising a Jewish dog. For the very first time, the same dynamic blend of passive-aggressiveness and smothering indulgence, that unique alloy of infantilization and disingenuous manipulation that created generations of high-achieving Jewish boys and girls, can be applied to create a generation of high-achieving Jewish doggies. Written (for real) by Ellis Weiner and Barbara Davilman, co-authors of the bestselling Yiddish with Dick and Jane and Yiddish with George and Laura, this essential 'guide' is sure to be a complete howl.

Rated by buyers 5 out of 5 stars - As A Psychiatrist and Jewish Mother of a Standard Poodle...
all I can say is "Oy."

I mean, all I can say is "Oy," in between gasping for breath. This is a hysterical, laugh-out-loud book.

Rated by buyers 4 out of 5 stars - Life as a Jewish Dog
Ethnic humour is always fun. When my kids we little - the 60s and 70s - we had a dog named PIXIE. She was as Jewish as they come. So I could have helped write the book.

If you're not Jewish, ask yourself what other ethnic group(s) would behave similarly?

Enjoy.....

Rated by buyers 5 out of 5 stars - Dry Jewish humor
Very dry humor, but right on point. I recommend it to psychologists to help understand jewish guilt.

Rated by buyers 3 out of 5 stars - adorable
Very cute point of view, if a little much at times. May I recommend, "Yiddishe Mamas: The Truth About the Jewish Mother" for an eye-popping, serious, yet entertaining, and absorbing look at this maligned stereotype.

Rated by buyers 5 out of 5 stars - Great read!
This was a great book - very easy to read and extremely funny!
I bought this for my kindle but am going to get a hardcopy for a co-worker- she is raising a Jewish dog and doesn't even know it!
